The Year of the Goat
The personality of a Goat
The Year of the Goat starts on the 1st February 2003
The Goat is born under the sign of art. They are imaginative, creative and have a good appreciation of
the finer things in life.
They have an easy-going nature and prefer to live in a relaxed and pressure-free environment.
They hate any sort of discord or unpleasantness and does not like to be bound by a strict routine or rigid timetable.
The Goat is not one to be hurried against their will, but despite their seemingly relaxed approach
to life they are someting of a perfectionist, and when they start work on a project they are certain
to give their best.
The Goat usually prefers to work in a team rather that on their own. They like to have the support of
others and if left to deal with matters on their own they can get very worried and tend to view things
rather pessimistically. Wherever possible the Goat will leave major decision making to others while they
concentrate on their own pursuits. If, however, they feel particularly strongly about a certain matter
or have to defend their position in any way, they will act with great fortitude and precision.
The Goat has a very peruasive nature and often uses their considerable charm to get their own way. They
can, however, be rather hesitant about letting their true feelings be known and if they were prepared to
be more forthright they would do much better as a result.
The Goat tends to have a quiet, somewhat reserved nature, but when they are in company that they like,
they can often become the centre of attention. They can be highly amusing, a marvellous host at parties,
and a supurb entertainer. Whenever the spotlight falls on the Goat, their adrenalin starts to flow and
they can be assured of giving a spakling performance - particularly if it allows them to use their skills.
Of all the signs of the Chinese zodiac, the Goat is probably the most gifted artistically. Whether it is
in theatre, literature, music or art, the Goat is cetain to make a lasting impression. They are a born
creator and are rarely happier than when occupied in some artistic pursuit. But even in this, the Goat
does well to work with others rather than on their own. They need inspiration and a guiding influence,
and when they have found their true metier they can often receive wide-spread acclaim and recognition.
Although the Goat is not particularly materialistic or concerned about finance, they will find that they
will usually be lucky in financial matters and will rarely be short of the necessary funds to tide
themselves over. They are, however, rather indulgent and tend to spend their money as soon as they receive
it rather than make use of it in the future.
The Goat usually leaves home when they are young but they will always maintain strong links with their
parents and the other members of their family. They are also rather nostalgic and is well known for keeping
mementoes of their childhood and souvenirs of places that they have visited. Their home will not particularly
tidy but they know where everything is and it will also be scrupulously clean.
Affairs of the heart are particularly important to the Goat and they will often have many romances before they
finally settle down. Although the Goat is fairly adaptable, they perefer to live in a secure and
stable environment and they will find that they are the best suited to those born under the signs of
the Tiger, Horse, Monkey, Pig and Rabbit. They can also establish a good relationship with the Dragon,
Snake, Rooster and another Goat, but they may find the Ox and the Dog a little too serious for their
liking. They will also not particularly care fot the Rat's rather thrifty ways.
The Goat can win friends easily and people generally feel relaxed in their company. They have a kind
and understanding nature and although they can occasionally be stubborn, they can, with the right support
and encouragement live a happy and satisfying life. And the more they can use their creative skills,
the happier they will be.
