The Year of the Rooster

The personality of a Rooster

The Year of the Rooster started on the 9th of February 2005

The Rooster is born under the sign of candour. They have a flamboyant and colourful personality and are meticulous in all that they do.

They are excellent organizers and wherever possible likes to plan their activities well in advance.

The Rooster is highly intelligent and usually very well read. They have a good sense of humour and are effective and persuasive speakers. They love discussions and enjoy taking part in any sort of debate. They have no hesitation in speaking their minds and are forthright in their views. They do, however, lack tact and can easily damage their reputation or cause offence by some thoughtless remark or action. They have a very volatile nature and the Rooster should always try to avoid acting on the spur of the moment.

The Rooster is usually very dignified in their manner and conducts themself with an air of confidence and authority. They are adept at handling financial matters and as with most things, they organize their financial affairs with considerable skill.

They choose their investments well and are capable of achieving great wealth. Most Roosters save or use their money wisely, but there are a few who are the reverse and are notorious spendthrifts. Fortunately the Rooster has great earning capacity and is rarely without sufficient funds.

Another characteristic of the Rooster is that they invariably carry a notebook or scraps of paper around with them. They are constantly writing themselves reminders or noting down important facts lest they forget. The Rooster cannot abide inefficiency and conducts all their various activities in an orderly, precise and methodical manner.

The Rooster is usually very ambitious, but they can be unrealistic in some of the things that they hope to achieve. They occasionally let their imagination run away with them and while they do not like any interference in the things that they do, it would be in their own interest if they were to listen to the views of others a little more often. They also do not like criticism and if they feel anybody doubting their judgement or prying too closely into their affairs, the Rooster is certain to let their feelings be known. They can also be rather self-centred and stubborn over relatively trivial matters, but to compensate for this, they are reliable, honest and trustworthy and this is very much appreciated by all who come into contact with them.

All roosters like to lead an active social life and enjoy attending parties and big functions. They usually have a wide circle of friends and is able to build up influential contacts with remarkable ease. They often belong to several clubs and societies and involve themselves in a variety of different activities. They are particularly interested in the environment, humanitarian affairs and anything affecting the welfare of others. The Rooster has a very caring nature and will do much to help those less fortunate than themselves.

The Rooster is generally very distinguished in their appearance and if their job permits they will wear and official uniform with great pride and dignity. They are not adverse to publicity and take great delight in being the centre of attention. They often do well in PR work or any other job which brings them into contact with the media. They also make a very good teacher.

They Rooster usually has a large family and as the parent takes a particularly active interest in the education of their children. They are very loyal to their partner and will find that they are especially well suited to those born under the signs of the Snake, Horse, Ox and Dragon, provided they are do not interfere too much in the Rooster's various activities. The Rat, Tiger, Goat and Pig can also establish a good relationship with the Rooster, but two Roosters together are likely to squabble and irate each other. The rather sensitive Rabbit will find the Rooster a bit too blunt for their liking and the Rooster will quickly become exasperated by the ever inquisitive and artful Monkey. The Rooster will also find it difficult to get on with the Dog.

If the Rooster can overcome their volatile nature and exercise more tact with some of the things that they say, they will go far in life. They are capable and talented and make a lasting and usually favourable impression almost everywhere they go.
